Biometry Core Facility Description
The Biometry core provides both statistical
services and data management service to CCCR laboratories
catering to your specific research needs.
Statistics (Edsel Peña,
PhD)
- Designing experiments, including sample size determination,
and deciding on the appropriate statistical methods to
be used
- Mathematical and stochastic modeling
- Statistical analysis of research data
- Computing aspects
Data Management (James
Hebert, ScD and Tom Hurley, MS)
- Constructing and maintaining analytic and tracking databases
- Consulting on the design and testing of study instruments
- Designing data screens
- Data entry, coding, transfer
- Designing and implementing quality control measures
The data management core provides CCCR
PIs access to a state-of-the-art optical scanning
setup that includes the capability to create forms, scan
completed forms, systematically check data quality and output
cleaned analytic datasets and a large-capacity server for
data storage and retrieval, to enhance data sharing across
multiple locations.
