Dr. Jim AllisonDr. James Allison, of the University of California, San Francisco, will be coming to the University of South Carolina to give a talk on colorectal cancer screening.  Dr. Allison is a nationally and internationally recognized expert on screening modalities for colorectal cancer, particularly fecal immunochemical testing (FIT), and has written extensively on the subject.  His talk will provide a rational, evidence-based comparison of the various methods currently in use, including their advantages and disadvantages.  His presentation is entitled, "There is No One Best Colorectal Cancer Screening Test: The Proof and Benefits of Getting FIT," and will occur on Wednesday May 13, at 1:00 pm in Room 114 of the Public Health Research Center on the USC campus.  An open discussion will take place following Dr. Allison’s lecture.
